Arenga abre el EP debut de Fedra con una confluencia de voces y melodías pegajosas que descansan sobre patrones rítmicos con una clara influencia del reggaeton y el dancehall. Los elementos percusivos, especialmente los timbales, convocan progresivamente al oyente a conectar con la energía del movimiento, la acción y la comunión. Arenga nos invita a habitar un paisaje sonoro de formas y bordes casi tangibles.

Sobre un punteo de guitarra delicadamente distorsionado, Revoleo se sacude a los golpes con agresivas percusiones que repican como disparos. Desde el estruendo, un inconfundible ritmo de baile funk emerge entre glitches y vocales chopeados que como un ASMR susurran al oído e invitan a la insurrección. Con una urgencia que ansía ser liberada, este track mantiene constantemente la tensión entre la creación y la destrucción.

Los remixes proporcionan al EP la versatilidad necesaria para ajustar la propuesta de Fedra a la pista de baile. La versión de Arenga de DJ Double Oh! se caracteriza por su introspección, profundidad y sensualidad, demostrando el talento del productor para crear viajes hipnóticos a través del sonido. En el otro extremo del espectro, Cimarrón aporta la tajante velocidad de la guaracha en una interpretación technicolor y vibrante de la paleta sonora de Fedra.

Arenga y revoleo flirts with the contemporary club latino sound, contributing with its sensibility to the global south movement. It is a slow-burning proclamation, a call for communion, dance and disobedience.

The journey begins with Arenga. This first track builds a cinematic ecosystem based on uplifting and eerie melodies, delayed percussions, reggaeton and dancehall inspired beats. Most of the percussive elements especially the timbales work as an invocation or a summoning force for the listener to connect with the energy of movement, action and community.

Revoleo starts off strong with a delicate and distorted guitar sample and crushing drum hits that smack you right in the face like gunshots. From the rumble a distinct baile funk beat stands out among glitches and chopped vocals that resemble an insurrectionary ASMR. Crafted with an impending sense of urgency craving for release, this track constantly holds the tension between creation and destruction.

The two remixes provide the necessary versatility to take Fedra’s inspiration into the dancefloor. DJ Double Oh!’s take on Arenga is a deep and sensual introspective track that showcases the producer’s ability to create hypnotic journeys through sound. On the other end of the spectrum, Cimarrón brings the heavy hitting energy of guaracha with a fast paced, bouncy and vibrant technicolor interpretation of Fedra’s sound palette.
